Iqbal Kebab, a Pakistan restaurant in Toronto is finest in Indian/Pakistani cuisine and halal food with a unique blend of African flavors. It is located in a small strip plaza at Thorncliffe Park Drive. The restaurant has been renovated recently – the interior looks more modern and the furniture is more contemporary. However, the food preparation area and signage still looks fairly old. You order at the counter and then wait for your turn. The food is Halal as confirmed by them on their website.
On weekends, they serve special breakfast like halwa puree thali, paya or nihari. On weekdays, you can grab a quick lunch on the go with a chicken/beef kebab roll or even a thali. Thalis are prepared fresh daily and offer you a choice of meat or vegetable dishes. As for the main courses, the Bihari Kebab, Chicken Malayi Boti and Chicken Tikkah are some favorites. Their Chicken Biryani and Daal Makhani are also much loved by customers. The Biryani had a great spice level to it, you can distinctly taste some raw spices. The chicken in the Biryani is tender and juicy. The Naan served here requires a special mention as they were very soft. Coming to the desserts, the Ras Malai is not to be missed.
While the serving sizes are small, the taste, ambiance, staff will manage to make it a memorable visit for you. We will definitely be coming back for their wraps, as they have a great variety of wraps available.
