Cyrus Restaurant is the best place to enjoy Persian food in Ontario. This place has been around for six years and they have gained quite a reputation for serving good food. The owners are lovely people. Hard workers! The food has a traditional aroma to it, and that’s what makes it unique. The meat is all Halal. They are open only four days a week and the restaurant normally shuts down around nine, so you better call before visiting.
Everything at Cyrus’s is always consistent. Someone always greets you with a smile at the register, if it’s not Cyrus himself, one of the helpful ladies definitely will. The taste is the same; brilliant and fresh every time. The Koobideh Kebab is a popular favorite, it is made up of ground beef served with Rice and Salad. The kebab offers just the right spice level and is soft and tender at the same time. Normally kebabs are either too soft to handle or too hard to bite elsewhere, but here at Cyrus, they are perfect. Next up is the Lamb Shank. It is a piece of Lamb, cooked to perfection and seasoned with traditional Persian spices. It too is served with yellow rice and salad. The salads served here are very fresh and crunchy. This place is also famous for it’s falafels. Falafel is a deep-fried ball that’s made of ground chickpeas. The chickpeas are mixed with herbs, spices, and onions to give it a wonderful flavor.
The owner takes pride in his work and is very specific about each dish. His passion is worth supporting. The prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are pretty good too. A few complaints though – they get very busy. But perhaps, that is a good sign.
